Corometery

A small area in the cemetery that has been allocated for those who had died of Covid-19, so that future generations would remember the price their ancestors paid in fighting the pandemic.
Only the wealthy have so far been able to bury their loved ones in a corometery, because the burial space commands a premium price, which is beyond what the common people could afford—who says that death doesn’t differentiate between the rich and the poor?

Math Homework Crackdown

When the Communist Party of China (CCP) is toying with the idea of limiting the number of hours students could spend on their school math homework every day, much to the relief of millions of math-anxious students and their parents, so that the time could be better spent on non-academic pursuits, or on familiarizing themselves with Xi’s socialist writings.
Unlike the CCP’s dreaded crackdown of its domestic gaming industry, such as prohibiting minors from playing video games Monday through Thursday and limiting their play to one hour on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, its rumored math homework crackdown is being anticipated by both students and parents.

🦤 🔢

Short for “Dodo Math.” Dated math topics, questions, or heuristics that may still interest some curious or eccentric recreational mathematicians or math educators, who in turn might share their “new knowledge” with a geeky or gray-haired audience keen to learn about the mathematics of yesteryear.
Square rooting and finding logarithms with a slide rule and on an abacus are two 🦤 🔢 lessons popular among symbol-minded senior citizens.

Cørøna Day

When there are no new cases of corona infections or deaths on a given day, which should be treated more as an anomaly rather than a new reality, especially in places that have recently recorded a low infection or mortality rate.
Although the infection rate in the local community is low or zero, however, with new daily corona cases from returnees who have been stranded overseas for months, it’s unlikely that the country would witness a Cørøna Day any time soon.

CoⓋid-19

One way to inform others in writing that you have been vaccinated against the coronavirus with the assumption that the odds of infecting them are quasi-zero.
Guesstimate what percentage of CoⓋid-19 math teachers and tutors in China, India, or Russia might still be infectious if 99.99% of them were jabbed with their homegrown vaccines.

Math 4 Life

When quantitative reasoning or mathematical thinking, which makes use of numbers and other mathematically based ideas to reason our way through the kinds of problems that confront us every day, becomes a way of life or second nature to us.
Math 4 Life is quite different from oft-impractical school math, but it’s as just as, or sometimes more, important.

Covid-🧮

When the abacus experienced a reawakening among thousands of students worldwide during the lockdown, when they went online to learn how to use this zero-battery primitive calculator, which allows them not only to do the four operations of arithmetic, but also to square and cube root large numbers.
Who would have expected that Covid-19 would be the catalyst to infect students, teachers, and parents in a number of Western countries with Covid-🧮?
