A term for whites that is what "African-American" is to blacks. The term "European-American" will never be applied to whites due to double standards in racial equality in the United States.
A Guy: Hey! look at that black guy over there!
Another Guy: Hey! you said black guy! That's racist. They're called African Americans. Racist!
A Guy: But he mostly likely isn't from Africa! I bet he hasn't even been there, or at least met a family member who was born there! If he's called an African-American, I should be called a European-American!

A region in New York State around the Hudson River north of the immediate suburbs of New York. Contrary to every travel guide I've ever seen, Lower Westchester is NOT part of the Hudson Valley, and grouping sophisticated metropolitan people like us with some upstate hicks is both insulting and degrading. Saying Mount Vernon has more in common with trailer-trash Monticello, NY than with the Bronx is absolutely absurd.
Let's clarify the many regions of NYS:
Noo Yawk - NYC, Lower Westchester county, and LI.
Upstate - anything north of White Plains.

Sharply divided into North and South. The southern half of the county which is closer to the city is heavily population suburbs while the towns to the north are more rural. The "Southerners", like me, don't consider Northern Westchester to really be part of our county.
Somers and Peekskill aren't Westchester, they're in Upstate New York or the "hudson valley" or whatever you want to call it. And by the way, Lower Westchester is not part of the Hudson valley contrary to every travel guide known to man, the HV is somewhere upstate or something. Really, what do Yonkers and Poughkeepsie really have in common?
