The 'Online Lore' Perspective: Much of the controversy labels the group as 'fake' based on external research or commentary from out-of-town sources. These entities often attempt to force connections between the group and established street sets (like 73 Gangster Crips) using geographic proximity as the primary link, leading to narratives that do not align with the local understanding.

• The Local Reality: Conversely, local perspectives often define WSDMGC73 as a rap collective composed of artists from the Vermont Knolls area rather than a formal gang organization. In this context, the 'behind the scenes' footage (0:00 - 3:43) serves as documentation of artists filming in their own neighborhood, rather than an attempt to claim status they do not hold.

Ultimately, the 'fake' label appears to be a product of the 'online loop', where external researchers project complex organizational structures onto a group that operates more simply as a creative collective. The confusion over terms like 'DMG' highlights how shared local nomenclature can be misinterpreted when analyzed by those lacking intimate, ground-level context.
