This song/video is a song (awkward) dance of well-known traffic star Cai Xukun in the male group talent show "Idol Trainee" in the early years.
In January 2019, Cai XuKun was appointed as an ambassador for the NBA Chinese New Year celebration, and many netizens took a mocking attitude towards the matter, and this video of his talent performance in "Idol Practice" was dug up. In the video, his basic ball skills, brilliant (unbelievable) movements and vivid (ghostly) expressions are impressive.
In the song and dance that followed the basketball performance, the first line of the song "just because you are too beautiful" was pronounced as "chicken you are too beautiful" due to the southern accent and fast speech speed 2. Combined with the basketball street dance in the opening scene, the empty ears of this line add a lot of comedy to the video.
The video was a hit on the Internet, and a large number of netizens spoofed Cai XuKun with ghost animals and expression packs. A mispronunciation of "Yay" which Liam's the world over are definitely cool enough to know but for some reason find immensely confusing.
Don’t confuse me with typos…I spent most of Tuesday thinking I wasn’t cool enough to know the phrase “Tay”.
