1. To obtain an item or resource through secret or stealthy means, so as not to be seen or discovered.

2. To steal something of importance; sometimes given as a command from a superior who does not want to tell you to outright steal something, but has few other options.
Sergeant: Listen Specialist Horton, I need you to find me some blank firing adapters.

SPC Horton: But sarge, I don't have access to the supply cage!

SGT: then you need to tactically acquire them; we have field exercises tonight and all soldiers need one. I don't care how you get them.
