a term used by police officers when talking to other officers, that describes criminals that continue to re-commit crimes regardless of jail time served or programs taken.

A shit rat is a term used to describe cats. Often these are stray cats, unprotected, and cause more harm than good. This term was created by Jim Lahey on the show Trailer Park Boys, in response to all the trouble Bubble's cats had been creating.

A miserable little dog, usually a terrier. The owner thinks that the sun shines out of their shit rat's arse. Given the opportunity, a shit rat will piss all over your house, and/or yap incessantly at nothing at all.

My girlfriend's Scotty is a shit rat. She pisses all over the floor right after going for a walk.
