First Publication Excitement

FPE is the intense enthusiasm one has after finally getting one of their definitions published on "Urban Dictionary" (which is usually preceded by numerous failing attempts and "Sorry, --- was not published" e-mails)

It is frequently followed by the melancholy of noticing that nobody has viewed the definition and the only thumbs up it's got is the one the writer gave themselves right at that moment (See: First Publication Disappointment)
A: Hey, hey, I just checked my e-mail, UD finally published my definition of !@#!#, let's see how much of the world agree with me.
A's Alter Ego: Don't have the "First Publication Excitement" just yet, no one cares.
A: Stop being such a mood-killer. I hate you!
A's Alter Ego: Alright, but you're gonna get first-publication-disappointed soon... btw, I AM YOU!

Merion Publications

Also known as Merion Publications or Merion DOESN'T Matter. A joke of an employer who offers benefits but lacks a solid pay scale. I wouldnt' recommend working here.
Mary works at Merion Matters or Merion Publications but only because she doesn't know any better.

Publification

The word used to describe the publishing of public information.
In the United Kingdom where documents, designated Top secret, are allowed to be make public after a period of 30 years, unless they are designated too sensitive and they remain sealed. I have created the word Publification to describe this action.
This word can be extended to mean any information published to the public.

Publication Period

Publication Period

The time on Urban Dictionary between when a post gets approved and it updated on the site.

After a word is approved, it takes some time for the site to update to include the word. In the 'in between period' which is known as the 'Publication Period' this is the point where it has been accepted, but when going to the link it says 'Sorry, we couldn't find: {word}'
"My post got approved, how long is the Publication Period?"
"My post just got approved and is in the Publication Period"

accidental Urban Dictionary publication

A blatantly terrible and profoundly unsatisfying definition that makes you wonder how in the world it got accepted in the first place.

One theory is that there are two populations of Urban Dictionary editors with ingrained muscle memories that cause them to continuously click either publish or don't publish so much that even if they wanted to deviate from their tradition, their impulse takes over and a great opportunity is squandered.

Accidental Urban Dictionary publications are clearly a result of those editors that love to click publish rather than don't publish nonstop.

The opposite of accidental Urban Dictionary publications is difficult to define, since the poor people who submitted those definitions probably deserved to have their exquisitely clever definitions published but received a rejection email anyway due to judges who couldn't change their clicking pattern fast enough for one good definition in a string of bad ones.
Urban Dictionary Editor 1: Oops my muscle memory caused me to accidentally click don't publish for that definition I liked.

Urban Dictionary Editor 2: It's ok, what you just did is compensated by the fact that editors allow accidental Urban Dictionary publications through all the time.

Self-publification

(related to Publification). But Self-publification relates to the act of promotion of yourself to the public. Can be in person or in the form of published in magazines or newspapers.
The in mordern world of 'Celebrity' the term self-publification can be used extensively to describe people like Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, who are regularly in the press and often at their own instigation not by others in order to create more interest in themselves.
Also the act of putting yourself in the press to increase your celebrity status.
