One of the most affluent towns in the United States. Situated just outside Chicago along Lake Michigan, Lake Forest is home to some of the wealthiest families in America. "Old Money" is a term used most often to describe the residents, who generally occupy the largest mansions, which are on the lake, costing an average of $10 million a pop. Crime is low, expectations are high, and public education is amoung the best in country- Lake Forest High School delivers dozens of graduating students to the Ivy Leagues each year. Voted "best dressed women in America" but Elle Magazine several years running and "Best Places to Live- Most Affluent" by Money Magazine, Lake Forest boasts a town of beautiful, smart, and rich residents like no other place in the world.

An extremley wealthy town on the North Shore in Illinois. Lake Forest is known for it's beautiful houses, expensive cars, and gorgeous clothes and people. One of the richest towns in America.

Lake Forest is located 30 miles north of Chicago. Despite a few contradictions, it is truly the third wealthiest town in the United States. Many surrounding towns compete to be the best of the north shore, but Kenilworth is the only the nearby town that tops LF's affluency. People on the north shore stereotype people in lake forest as snotty drug addicts who would never make it at New Trier. NT is by far one of the best public high schools in the country but LF's two high schools are almost equivalent. LFHS is possibly the most beautiful public high school in the country and has been gaining testing strength almost outranking NT. LFA is the only coed boarding school in the Chicago-land area and is highly regarded as one of the world's best schools, even passing NT. The problem with drugs is limited. Although the bitchy reputation can sometimes be portrayed most of the residents are polite, considerate and appreciative of what they have. The designer clothes that are said to fill their closets are mixed in with things found at Target.

The 3rd richest town in the country and proably the world. Only Greenwich, CN, and Kenilworth, IL are slightly above the affluent, beautiful lake forest. LF is about 30 miles north east of chicago right on lake michigan. Everyone from lake forest is rich beyond belief compared to the rest of you, people and most everyone is gorgeous. In order to survive in our beautiful small town, you must drive carSSSS like mercedes, porsche, bmw, ferarri, range rover, and lexus. otherwise, your simply a lake forest, white trash, wannabe. all the other suburbs around us strive their hardest to beat us in anything, sports, LOOKS, money not gonna happen, cars& houses again, not gonna happen and just about everything. like someone said above, it's lake forest, we breed perfection. were rich, and your not. get over it. just watch the movie mean girls. Regina george has the typical lake forest lifestyle that we, who live here are proud of. Lake forest is the real north shore, dont expect to survive in the area if you arent gorgeous, wealthy, and smart. Oh, not to mention we are the best, and we will always be the best, so all of you wannabees get over yourselves, lake forest, the real north shore.

One of the richest, pure raced communisities in the world. The residents usualy have a rather short sighted view of things, but overall, despite being slightly self centered, are good people. Do not expect to see many minorities, and any that you do have either been dregded of any ethnic traces, or are shunned quickly from the "in" crowd. Numerous exclusive country clubs dot the landscape of Lake Forest, or the "LF" as residents call it.
There are two major high schools in the area, a boarding school called Lake Forest Academy, where most of the students are boarders from out of state. The other high school is the public school, called Lake Forest High School. This establishment provides a good mix of rich children and the leff afluent of the area.

A town located about an hour North of Chicago, Illinois. The town was named for the college (Lake Forest College), which was built around the same time. Everything in Lake Forest is crazy expensive, even though most houses aren't that attractive. The people of Lake Forest generally believe they are better than everyone else.
I walked into Lake Forest High School trying to find the swim locker room but accidently walked into the lacrosse locker room.
