A Yorkshire term meaning to wretch. Outsiders often assume it means to vomit, but gipping is only a precursor to vomiting and vomiting does not necessarily ensue.

Gip; (verb); to gip out. when you have overdone it on a particularly heavy night, usually on substances other than, or in addition to alcohol. gipping can include such activities as vomiting, falling unconscious, falling down stairs, blabbering incoherent bollocks, or climbing on in to a nearby sleeping bag (or GIP-SACK). once in a gip-sack, gippers do not usually emerge until they have stopped being ill, and the white cycle is over for another day.
