Funky Friday was a well known ice skating dance/party in London, UK held at Streatham Ice Skating Rink on Friday evenings/nights which no longer occurs. The popular UK rapper Dave who hails from Streatham uses the lyrics “We come through like Funky Friday and have all of your mandem skating” in his track featuring Fredo, suggesting that Dave himself has been to a Funky Friday and uses his connection with Streatham as a way of associating with this event.
