fluff news

noun

A type of news typically seen on low quality publications looking to get some cheap content, or to "fluff" their way through another article.
Person 1: "Did you see that new article about why grammar doesn't matter any more?"
Person 2: "Honestly they are really scraping the bottom of the barrel with that one - why are the media so focused on fluff news these days?"
