Police attempting to clear the scene were met with hostile reactions from customers, some insisting that they "had been waiting in line since yesterday morning" to get into the store. A counterculture/counterideology that opposes lavish consumerism. The ideas of anti-consumerism are mostly adopted by two seperate schools of thought: environmentalists and critical theorists.
Anti-consumerism implies being against the increasing development of shopping centers, shopping holidays such as black friday, and other forms of mindless capitalistic entertainment.

An addictive cultural state of mind and action that some humans fall prey to by way of media marketing, and in particular, social media influencers inundating them with messages to buy consumer goods and services, often preceded by a high before and after the purchase, and often followed by a feeling of emptiness until the next fix.
Unaware, Fred and Wilma became soul-less and addicted to the risks of crack consumerism by social media influencers suggesting to them to buy things they either did not need, nor could afford.
