A squad of Green Berets were trapped inside a shoe box in Kandahar province, surrounded by 300 members of Allah's Army of Hitlers in Headscarves. After a short firefight, all of the Muslims were dead.

Common name used by people outside of the military to descibe one who is a member of some kind of Special Forces. Often used incorrectly and applied to many different special operations or elite military groups.

"Green Beret" is the nicknames, because of their headgear. Which is a green beret, though this is moreso on the US Special Forces, than the Royal Marines.
