Afteritus 

a word used to describe the realization of something good you have lost. Signs are depression, massive anxiety, ADD, annoying, feeling empty, guilt, regret, longing to hear someones voice. Mostly found and diagnosed after breakups where the Man is everything for the woman, but she dumps him. Found in Women Rarity in Men.

You know Robert and Jane broke up after she said he was too nice. Yes, I heard she fell apart after they broke up. Yeah she constantly called him leaving him voicemails. Jane had contracted afteritus. 6 months later they are back together and soon to be engaged.

Like a professor emeritus, a professor ameritus is a professor who has retired except in this case without having racked up any meritorious accomplishments such as publications, research grants, or teaching awards; a retired academic goldbrick.

Having accomplished nothing throughout his long academic career except collecting a substantial undeserved salary and enviable retirement benefits, they should've conferred the title of professor ameritus (i.e. without merit) upon him.

The taste that lingers in your mouth after inserting or ingesting something

Ex:

a. The darker the color of red wine, the stronger aftertaste... almost bitter if I do say so myself.
b. Smoking a cigarette not only gives you bad breath and odor, but a leaves a different aftertaste depending on your cigarette (sometimes minty).
c. Regular, clear, plain water, when drunk, you will notice does not have an aftertaste.
d. Cut open a lime and suck out the juice, that taste you experience after you're done with it, is what is essentially called an aftertaste.
e. When you vomit or puke, you will notice an acidic and nasty taste. That is an aftertaste, that no one likes.
