Two-Thousands

AKA Two Thousands, 2000s, 2XXXs, 2-Thousands, 2 Thousands etc.
The period between January 1st of the year 2000 and December 31st of the year 2999.
With all the transformations our planet, it's cultures, government, geography, technology, language, music, the way we dress etc are likely to go through, it is highly unlikely that we will get through the Two-Thousands with a world as closely resembling our own as that shown on the cartoon "Futurama."

two-thousandaire

A member of America's class of home-owning families with only two thousand dollars in savings. Deeply in debt, they live from paycheck to paycheck dreading any unforseen financial catastrophies such as a sudden illness or unemployment. First coined by Karen De Coster and Eric Englund.
Taking out a home equity loan might seem like a good idea to a two-thousandaire, unless one gets laid off and ends up penniless.

Two Thousand and Sixteen

Two Thousand and Sixteen

MMXVI

(too-thow-zund-sics-teen)

Noun, Proper

An individual year that took place over two thousand years into the Common Era (CE) where everyone important died, the worst American election in history took place, great social unrest occurred, and generally shitty events and movies happened. It is generally agreed that the world should have ended on this year instead of 2012 (many in America hope it happens before November 8th).

Also pronounced "Two Thousand Sixteen" or "Twenty Sixteen", this term is considered an insult and slur in the parts of the world where western culture and media is predominant.

West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped. Now often used in predominantly working-class areas of the midlands and the north to mean someone who listens to rock-derived music and/or dresses in a manner that suggests they affiliate themselves with rock music of some kind.
Some grebo passed with Sabbath playing on his stereo.
The Poppies are at no. 17? God, a grebo band in the charts!
