To discard something valuable or functional that was ruined by a flawed system or process, while stubbornly refusing to fix or replace the root cause (the broken "mold" itself).

It's an ironic twist on "have your cake and eat it too" (wanting the benefits without the costs) and "throwing the baby out with the bathwater" (over-discarding).

Here, the baker throws away a perfectly edible (if deformed) cookie but keeps using the damaged mold that caused the problem — repeatedly producing failures while blaming the output.

This describes institutions, organizations, or individuals who create or perpetuate their own problems, punish or abandon those harmed by them, and continue the dysfunctional practices anyway.
