Sunbonanism

Fundamentalist current of toy collecting where a fundamental militant expects all representations of a fictional character to mirror exactly the designs from the first animated series.

The term originated in the Transformers fandom, where the original 1984 cartoon was produced by Sunbow.
Despite the blatant discrepancies between toy designs and cartoon appearances, Sunbonanist fundamentalists demand perfect representation of the cartoon's appearance, down to every single shortcut or mistake.

In Sunbonanism, every original error or inaccuracy is irrelevant, as long as the representation of a character is identical to a cartoon from the eighties.

Sunbonanist fundamentalists are easily identified by their utilisation of the term "mini-MP", or "mini-masterpiece".
"Look at this toy, it converts from robot to Volkswagen beetle"
"That's bumblebee! But... hold on, to turn it into a robot you have to remove half of the car?"
"I didn't know you were into Sunbonanism"
"Well, that doesn't matter, as long as it looks like the TV show. It's like a mini-MP"
