shamoolies

Noun: Refers to the nickname given by military personnel to illumination flares that are used on the battlefield to light large areas up.

A small plastic tube with a pullstring that, when pulled, shoots a rocket propelled flare approx. 800m into the air, which then burns with a bright orange-red colour for 50 seconds whilst dropping to the ground with a small parachute. It allows infantry units to light an area up in a battle about 1km squared so as to expose the enemy they are engaging. Although technically called Illumination Flares, military personnel refer to them as Shamoolies.

A derivative of shwasted and smashed, shmoosted is the process of becoming severely inebriated from the consumption of excessive amounts of alcohol. Often said by high school and college students while boasting about their drinking accomplishments.

Bro, I got so incredibly shmoosted last night, I'm never drinking again.

I'd probably do Rosie O'Donnell if I got shmoosted enough.
