POV guy 

This term pertains exclusively to internet video chatroom culture such as TikTok, Twitch, Omegle, Chatroulette etc.

It describes a young to middle-aged male that chooses an uncomfortably close camera position or, by all given definitions, an awkward fixed position (usually sideways) throughout the broadcast, with the end goal to show themselves as mysterious, attractive, elusive or masculine and powerful. However, this usually goes awry, as the spectators usually feel disillusioned by the vapid and dry character of the individual, who uses this same technique to try and mask deeply seeded insecurities about their position as a man in the world.

Person A: Hey, I really like that guy with tattoos we've seen on TikTok. He's sooo cool!! You remember him, right? Always in the shirt that shows his muscles and kinda looking sideways at me... I also like the double nose piercing guy we saw the other time and...

Person B (cuts in): Wait. The POV guy that's basically leering and doing nothing? He looks both scared an dead behind his eyes at the same time. As your friend, you best check your priorities in life.
