In role-playing contexts (GTARP, etc) NVL means "No Value of Life". It's widely frowned upon by many RP communities, as NVL activities rarely lead to any substantial role-playing gameplay and is generally not realistic. Whether it's a character going around crashing their car into other players for no reason, or murdering players on sight without trying to RP a situation, NVLing is just boring for anyone who is trying to play a different way.
The cops rolled up when I was stealing jewelry and NVL'd me right away.

In a Visual Novel or Role Playing game, NVL is where the text box basically encompasses the whole screen and the sentences come out in page format. In contrast to ADV where there's a text box below the sprites and the sentences come out line by line.
In fighting games I prefer NVL because the text comes out by the characters mouths. In visual novels I like ADV because the text is all together like in a book and it is at the bottom of the page so it doesn't cover up the beautiful character drawings.

A trip to a grocery store, convenience store, or gas station for the sole purpose of buying an excessive amount of junk food and sugary drinks, usually with friends. A chud run often happens late at night and ends with everyone involved hating themselves afterwards.

flophouse

Any house/apartment/frat house/trailer/etc. which is used for individuals to crash (sleep, chill, hang out, lurk, etc.) for a period of time. In order to "crash", one must not actually live there (e.g. have their name on the lease, own said flophouse, etc.). Flophouses are typically used by college students, drug addicts, transients, vagrants, or other unsavory characters.

A flophouse may also be the home owned by the parents of a college student, who after being away at college, wishes to live as if he/she is still at college (e.g. staying out all night, returning just to crash at mom and dad's house, then leaving again), rather than conforming to the pre-college rules.
Example #1
Dude: (Talking to someone passed out face first on the floor of his college apartment) Hey man, who the hell are you? What do you think this is, a flophouse??

Bro: Sorry dude, I must have passed out for a minute.

Example #2
Mom: Where have you BEEN for the last three days? You come home just to sleep?? What do you think this is, a flophouse??!!

Son: What's your problem? I'm an adult now!
