Hobo nickle

Dustbowl / graet depression aprox 7 million American starved to death. Many many oroginal homestead families were completely displaced as far as Canada where land settlers grants were still available at that time.

Hobo nickles were hand carved "tramp art" or folk art coins mostly pickles carved by the Displaced Shawnee homesteaders. They would pay a farmers wife or widow a carved nickle as payment or a sweet heart token, for food lodging and a job.
That's worth a Hobo nickle.
