A very talented and misunderstood rapper, real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers lll, He had a rough upbringing, his father left him when he was just a baby, and his mom was mentally ill with münchausen symdrome and used to beat him constamely, as Eminem admitted to in the 1999 interview with Howard Stern. He was bullied growing up, and one time he got beaten so bad he got a concussion and had to relearn basic skills slowly to regain his full consciousness, this experience was inspired by his song "brain damage". This is why Eminem is well respected, because all of his music has a reason, and comes from personal experience, but this is also why he is misunderstood, because people don't realize he is only speaking his feelings from his upbringing, he admitted this multiple times in his books and interviews. He didn't get a record deal until Dr. Dre heard his album the "Slim Shady EP" and instantly he got a record deal and instantly he became famous. Although Eminem was underestimated before he was famous, it took a lot of convincing for Eminem to win respect because of his race, but most people realize hip hop is a social political movement meant for people who grew up in the ghetto to find a voice through hip hop, like Eminem, not for specific races. Eminem is always real, never faked an accent when rapping, always respected the hiphop culture and black history and culture, he is now an iconic legend that will forever be known and continues to inspire many rappers.
Person 1: "do you think Eminem is only famous because he's white?"
Person 2: "no, many rappers now a days are white, and they are not even close to eminems fame, in fact Eminem is the only extremely famous and respected white rapper, people just want to pull the race card out on his because they can't accept that a white rapper is one of the best rappers."

Person H: "Is Eminem overrated?"
Person G: "no, most people don't realize the truth Eminem is speaking in his songs and instantly underestimate him, no rapper has gone as personal in their music as Eminem, no one has put as much emotion in their music as Eminem, take the misunderstood song "Kim" for example, his music is so personal, unique and timeless that it's untouchable, nobody has albums that unique, nothing that personal can be overrated, and adding on his lyrical ability makes him almost underrated, or extremely underestimated. Don't you understand? People want to hear VAGUE music, they don't want to hear the truth, that's why they stay stupid things like 'he's overrated' whichout even breaking down the things he is actually rapping about."

Person Y: "is Eminem a wigger?"
Person Z: "NO, he has always and still does respect black culture, he doesn't fake black accents and he respects cultural appropriation, that's why he raps in his own style, and even if he did rap in a black accent, he grew up in a Black community, so he has a right to, but he shows so much respect that he doesn't rap in a black accent."

One of the most controversial rap artists who rose to fame in the late nineties. His songs are a combination of his two "identities", Marshall Mathers and Slim Shady. Marshall Mathers raps about issues he faced growing up in his life and how he approached them. Many teenagers can relate to some of the issues he raises in his songs, such as drug addictions, problems with parents, etc. Some of the more famous raps in this genre include Stan and The Way I am. Slim Shady, in contrast, is Eminems goofy side. Anything goes while Slim is rapping, he'll rap about anything and everything with no real message behind the music. Slim Shady appears in songs like The Real Slim Shady and Rain Man. Eminem is credited with the discovery of many prominent mainstream rap artists such as D12 and 50 Cent. Along with Dr. Dre, Eminem has created a rap label called Shady/Aftermath. He is often hailed as a man who took incredible steps in uniting urban and suburban cultures trough his music. Sometimes branded a wigger by some, Eminem has tried his best to shed this title, and has been backed up by other rappers in the industry who show their support for him and his music. Some consider him among the top five rappers in history. His earliest albums are also considered as his best work, with The Marshall Mathers LP considered legendary by many rap critics. However, it seems that lately Eminem has let politics interfere too much with his music, and may have lost some of his mainstream fan base because of that.
Yo man, I saw Eminem in Detroit a week ago.

A famous white MC who is notorious for his offensive lyrics and vulgarity.

He's probably the most technically skilled MC of all time. His mult-syllabic rhymes, internal rhyming, and vocabulary is superior to nearly everyone in the game, despite the fact that most Hip Hop heads will try to tell you that underground MC's own him (they wouldn't). They obviously haven't heard the "Infinite" album, which is likely the best album I've heard from ANY MC.

The tracks on "Infinite" are perfect examples of why Eminem is the most skilled MC of all time.

One of his best songs is "Infinite" (first track on the album), and for this example I'll be discussing the second verse.

Notice how he is able to weave a particular vowel sound throughout an entire line (example: "One thought in my cerebral is deeper than a jeep full of people"), and how he can make so many words rhyme (example: "I spoil loyal fans/ I foil plans and leave fluids leaking like oil pans/ My coiled hands/"), rather than just making sure the words and the end of the line rhyme, like most MC's do.

Another example of his lyrical talent is from "Tonight", also on Infinite:

"We travel in packs and ravel in facts and gravel in cracks

To find babbling Max, gaffling tracks

I grapple an axe for them baffling acts

The mysterious stab in the backs who dabble in wax"

He starts off with "we travel in packs" and then makes nearly everything else he says rhyme with that (grapple an axe, stab in the backs, ravel in facts, etc).
Keep in mind that I could give you hundreds of genius lines from him, but I only get to use 1500 characters.

Eminem is top 5 of all time.

Some great songs from him: Infinite, Tonight, 313, Biterphobia, Open Mic, Jealousy Woes II, It's Ok, Role Model, Rock Bottom, Microphone freestyle, Rhymin Wordz freestyle, etc.

one of the most amazing and talented artists out there. he's earned his respect in the "rap community" more than anyone, and more than once. because of him we have 50 cent and D12. so what that he had help from Dr.Dre to make it in this world. he bases all his songs on past experiences. unlike many artists, eminem writes his own songs, and has earned a place in the "rap hall of fame" (if there even is one). he deserves all the respect and popularity he gets. And on top of being a rap phenominon, he takes the time to take care of three children (hailie jade- his own daughter, laney- his neice from an abusive family? and kims other 2 year old daughter).
eminem is the best and most amazing rapper and entertainer there is. he deserves every bit of respect that he has, and made his way from the top to the bottom of life. eminem ur amazing u practically saved my life!!
