Emancipated Gill

A term used—typically by the ostentatiously wealthy or design-pretentious—to describe the highest ceiling in a residence, especially one so elevated it appears to defy conventional architecture or social restraint

"We take cocktails under the emancipated gill at sunset. The echo makes everything sound more important."
