Dimmu Borgir

A kickass black metal band from Norway. They have tons of cd's out (my personal favorite is puritanical euphoric misanthropia). They have a lead singer to die for who's name is shagrath and They were on ozzfest 2004, currently they're taking a 2 year break (yes I know, so sad. :(... but then they'll be back cause the battle rages on and on.
They also did the theme song for that show on mtv. Battle for ozzfest.

Dimmu Borgir

A really cool symphonic black metal band from Norway.

Sure, they're not traditional black metal like bands such as Bathory or Emperor, and their lyrics can be somewhat.. crazy.. but the music is intense and awesome.

So, before all of you start yelling at me and calling me some sort of evil goth Satan-worshipper.. first of all, I'm Christian and I don't worship Satan, and second of all, I'm not trying to relate to their lyrics - I just like their music. If I wanted to find some good meaning in lyrics, I'd look at bands like Stratovarius or HIM, both of which are also really good.

So once again, Dimmu Borgir is an awesome band, and for those of you who want some nice heavy metal, I suggest checking these guys out.
Some good songs by Dimmu Borgir include: Sympozium, In Death's Embrace, Alliegance

Dimmu Borgir

A Norwegian black metal band that has a unique style all their own. Not only do they visually make a statement, but their music does as well. Dimmu were on Ozzfest 2004, which hopefully got their name out to a few more people in the United States. Vocalist Shagrath helps to make the band one of a kind.
Two great songs:

'Cataclysm Children' (English)

'Allehelgens Dod I Helveds Rike' (Norwegian...if you can't tell)

Dimmu Borgir

The most pretentious and bombastic of Black Metal bands, and, for that reason, the most enjoyable.
Take three impressive-sounding words that have nothing to do with each other and put them together. Then you have the title of the next Dimmu Borgir album!

Dimmu Borgir

Norwegian symphonic black metal band. While middle-aged people generalize their lyrics as dark and angsty, unlike The Beatles, they have the ability to cover more than one topic in a single album, including poetically challenging extremist conservative religious fanatics, the definition of morality, telling a narrative of Satan's assistant, and several more if you understand Norwegian.

Occasionally their music videos or lyrics contain unjustifiably objectionable material, but I interpret that this is their message to their fans not to become mindless followers of their band.
If you had to mass-generalize Dimmu Borgir, you'd have to call them a cross between heavy metal and classical.

Dimmu Borgir

A metal band from Norway, started in 1993 by singer Shagrath, and bassist ICS Vortex. This band follows in the footsteps of Norwegian Black Metal band, Immortal, in the fact they paint their faces in corpse paint (KISS makeup) and Growl (singing buy using low, unharmonic vocals) They are well known through out the metal scene. They combine they growling from their vocals with symphony orchestras in their music, and from time to time, the bassist will sing with clean vocals, to create a unique sound, no other band can come close to. They have several albums spanning from "For All Tid" in 1993 to "In Sorte Diaboli" in 2007. The name of the band is Norwegian for Black Church, named after a lava flow in norway, that oddly created caverns, the biggest of these caverns, is named Kirkjan, the word for Cathedral.
Dimmu Borgir is the heaviest, most satanic band ever.
