Not emo. Unfortunately, if you write lyrics that are borderline depressing you get labeled "emo" when their music is more in line with other bands of that areas like Modest Mouse, and even The Shins.

An indie pop quartet out of Bellingham, WA. Whose members include: Christopher Walla, Ben Gibbard, Nick Harmer, and Micheal Schorr. Formed in 1997. Albums: Something About Airplanes(99), We Have The Facts And We're Voting Yes(00), The Photo Album(01), Transatlanticism(03). Their name was taken from The Beatles film Yellow Submarine.

An AMAZING band that should be commended for their awesome melodic tunes and beautiful lyrical talent.
Seeing them live was easily the best concert I have ever been to. They sound exactly the same as they do recorded, and 4 weeks later, I am still in awe of their remarkable talent. I will always always love Death Cab.
