Scattered across the internet but claim to be an organized force. Their home is 4chan. They spam, black mail and hate every one but themselves.The alpha narcissists of the internet. They are most likely bullied and think that they can use the internet to take their aggression out on innocents by bullying them for saying something bad about them.

A leaderless group on the internet. Anonymous could be anyone and therefore, it is primarily split into divisions of hacktivism, lulz and protesting. The hacktivism (don't think I need to explain this) section of it is the most well known form of Anonymous, however many people do not understand that this is only a subsection of Anonymous and not the entire thing. The "Lulz" section are the people who like to... make lulz. The protesting section of it is when people protest against something (like Scientology) wearing Guy Fawkes masks to conceal their identity. The term "Moral fags" is a term to tease the people who protest and use hacking for purposes other than lulz in the Anonymous group according to the ED article (I don't advise you go there).

Anonymous is a movement fighting for equal rights and freedom.
Some people might think we are attacking random people which is wrong, we target bigger things that random citizens, like governments, FBI and other things on that level.

Most anons are stupid /b/tards that couldn't print their own name in lua or python, but are looked upon by many as hackers on steroids. Although they are the amalgamation of every anonymous (non-tripfag) 4chan poster, they are still looked at as a homogeneous group by the less perceptive; who clearly either think anonymous means "that guy who wrote a lot of quotations" or haven't seen anons insult and flame each other over the slightest disagreement, which they do all the time (using language like ur a fucking retart). The stereotype of anonymous being some "elite hacker group" was further perpetuated when the script kiddie "h4x0rs", lulzsec, portrayed anonymous as a proper hacking army. The old media had a humongous erection, and even further cemented in people's minds that "anonymous" was an organized and clever hacktivism group. Of course, some anons, especially the 13-year old "hey /g/ DDOS this kid's blog cuz he wuz mean 2 me at school" type, are fond of embracing this depiction. And, as we all know, anyone who takes the internet, and especially 4chan srsly clearly lacks purpose and should an hero.
