The state of being for a person in higher education where they lose touch with all semblance of reality.

That professor used to be in touch with the profession, but now she suffers extreme academentia.

Of or relating to a pseudo-intellectual who believes using fancy terms and obscure knowledge for no reason will make them seem smart and earn respect from others.

Person 1: "Why can't I understand anything in this letter?"
Person 2: "Whoever wrote it must be academented."
