The first American compact car, and the most popular one available in the 70's. It was built from 1970-1978, and was offered with a 6 cyl engine instead of a 4 banger. People often mocked it's wedge shape styling, but it was more stylish then any Pinto, Vega, or Chevette and lasted ALOT longer.
Unlike the Ford Pinto and Chevy Vega, the AMC Gremlin didn't blow up, or rust on dealership lots. Nope, they were reliable, and I used to see them still still cruising the streets back in the 90's.

A compact car made by AMC from 1975-1980. Known for being the first small WIDE car, and it's bizarre styling. A wagon version was offered in 1977, but didn't do much to spur sales. The Pacer is probably AMC's last attempt at creating a whole new car, before they gave up to concentrate on Jeeps and the AMC Eagles.
The AMC Pacer was considered some what of a geek mobile during the 70's and 80's, but it was a tough reliable little car with unique styling.

The rusty old stationwagon you see outside abandoned gas stations in redneckville USA, haha!!

No seriously, it's a unique 4WD car made from 1980-1988. Availabe in coupe, sedan, and wagon which was the most popular. Has the same 70's body style as the AMC Hornet, which is why it was dubbed uncool throughout it's life. Now days you rarely see any in good condition, as rust was a huge problem on these cars.
Everytime I see an AMC Eagle, it's always a rusty beat to hell junker parked outside of an abandoned business. I guess nobody liked these things.

One of many American Movie Classics theatres located in San Diego county. Surroundings include a Mormon bookstore, an arcade, Trader Joe's and Pier 1 Imports.
Serves as a usual hangout for the East-Side La Jolla kids.
Most of them are in La Jolla High School's seminar and are all quite nice to get along with. Some however, are snobbish and act exclusively. Generally, the AMC 12 is most populated by East-side La Jolla kids when movies like Harry Potter, The Pirates, and other fantastical, action-related movies premiere. More often than not, they will dress accordingly with the movie's characters.
Last night at AMC 12, I saw my entire seminar class dressed up as wizards at the Harry Potter premiere.

A big car made by American Motors from 1971-1978. The most famous style being the 2 door fast back coupe introduced in 1974. This car was made popular in the James Bond movie "The Man With The Golden Gun", when it's turned into an airplane by the main antagonist. The Matador was also offered as a Sedan and Wagon, but was not a big seller after the gas crisis. Some Police and Taxi companies used them, but not many. The coupes sales died too, as it's styling was not well received by the public. AMC ditched the Matador in 1978 to focus on smaller cars.
The AMC Matador was unappreciated when new, but it was a very solid reliable car. '74 - '78 Coupe models are very rare today.

Formerly known as Lowes Movie Theater, this AMC 17 Theater is located in Stony Brook NY on Long Island. Right across the street from the Smithhaven Mall in a large strip mall with a Waldbaums food store, many (what look sketch) food and business stores, a Marshalls, and a shoe store that has been closed for over a year it is definitely the meeting place for the thousands of teens from the surrounding areas as well as the students from SUNY Stony Brook. Very often one will go with a pack of friends to a movie and then across a sidestreet to the Friendly's diner to feed like a pack of wolves. Most Friday nights are spent in this fashion.

Though Lowes movie company being bought out by AMC at this location, all of the signage still says Lowes as well as the theater design and tacky red and black motif from the Lowes era. In fact no one even refers to the theater as AMC 17 though the uniforms declare it so. Even the coupons from Lowes must be accepted at this location just because the signs haven't been changed.

Known by its employees as hell in a handbasket for the particularly rude Long Island North Shore upper middle class as well as the rude middle and lower classes it just gives one the entire spectrum of the unhappy people that reside there.

Recently updated with an IMAX screen in the largest theater those in the front rows will have an even worse neckache than before with the regular screen. Though the new IMAX will pay for itself after one showing since the tickets for it are more expensive.

Girl 1: Wanna catch a movie at Lowes?
Girl 2: Yeah, that sounds good. Wait...isn't it an AMC 17?
