The stronger fallacy of claiming that two positions are equivalent because both challenge some form of consensus, ignoring vast differences in evidence, reasoning, and scientific support. The flat Earth equivalence fallacy asserts that believing in climate change is like believing the Earth is flat because both "go against the mainstream," or that questioning vaccine safety is like questioning gravity because both involve skepticism. The fallacy ignores that skepticism is not a binary; it's a matter of evidence. Some consensus views are supported by overwhelming evidence; others are not. Equating them based on the formal similarity of "questioning consensus" is intellectually lazy and rhetorically manipulative. The equivalence fallacy is beloved of false balance journalism and concern trolling.
Flat Earth Equivalence Fallacy Example: "The pundit committed the flat Earth equivalence fallacy, saying that climate scientists were like flat Earthers because both were 'certain' about their views. The equivalence ignored that one certainty was backed by decades of research and global consensus, the other by YouTube videos and wishful thinking. False equivalence had replaced honest comparison."

Flat Earth Analogy Fallacy

A rhetorical fallacy where someone dismisses an argument or position by comparing it to Flat Earth belief, regardless of actual differences in evidence, reasoning, or plausibility. "That's like believing the Earth is flat" becomes a magic phrase that ends discussion—as if the comparison itself proves the point false. The fallacy lies in using the most extreme, universally rejected example as a cudgel against any view that seems unconventional. But not every unconventional view is Flat Earth; not every challenge to consensus is equally baseless. The analogy ignores context, evidence, and the actual reasons for believing or doubting. It's intellectual laziness dressed as devastating critique.
"I suggested that current models of consciousness might be incomplete and that alternative approaches deserve consideration. Response: 'Might as well believe the Earth is flat.' That's Flat Earth Analogy Fallacy—comparing a legitimate scientific debate to a debunked pseudoscience. Consciousness studies is an open field; Flat Earth is settled nonsense. The analogy doesn't engage my argument—it just tries to shame me with association. But shame isn't logic, and analogies aren't evidence."

Flat Aero

A variant that merges Frutiger Aero’s glossy, three‑dimensional design language with the flat, minimalist aesthetics of Windows 8, Windows 10, and Windows 11. It takes the clean icons, bright colors, and sharp edges of modern flat design and adds subtle gloss, transparency, and soft shadows from the Aero era. The result is an interface that feels both contemporary and nostalgic—like Microsoft never fully abandoned glass but sanded down its edges. Popular in custom themes, UI design, and desktop customization communities.
Example: “His Windows 11 skin was pure Flat Aero: sharp square icons with a faint glass sheen, shadows that hinted at depth, and a start menu that felt both modern and 2007.”

Flat White to go

After having a coffee enema, anal sex is conducted until ejaculation, leading to a milk coffee coloured liquid spurting out of the anus of the receiver.
I was doing a coffee cleanse and one thing led to another and all of a sudden I had a Flat White to go all over the bed sheets.

Flat is justice

It's true though. Flat IS justice, anyone who says otherwise clearly doesn't get the appeal. It's elegant, it's understated, what else can I say? No, I'm not trolling. I frankly don't care if not a single man in the world shares my preferences, flat is justice and that's a fact!
Imagine liking bouncy, buxom, full-figured breasts, like ew. Flat ass and tits are MUCH more elegant looking (not too flat though). Flat is justice.
