Shorthand for Jersey Devil. Used frequently in discussions of creative works inspired by the Jersey Devil or its mythos. Also used as an adjective to describe an apocryphal creative work.

The earnestness of early jer'devil work is missing in his manifesto.
The poem's jer'devil allies it with works like Breton's 'Nadja'.
