Transitional Relationship

A affair in which one or both people have recently come out of a painful divorce/long-term relationship; somewhat of a "practice run" for the next serious relationship. More meaningful than a fuck buddy or friend privilege, a T/R is monogamous, and involves close friendship, sexual relations, and often genuine love, but no potential for permanence. Frequently arises between people who were already acquaintances, and is the relationship-equivalent to a halfway house for broken hearts on the mend.

"I think Jeff is absolutely amazing and I would love to go out with him in the future, but I'm still healing from my divorce and this transitional relationship with Dillon is all I can handle right now".

Transferitis

A colloquial term describing when students who are just about to transfer cannot bring themselves to care about their current classes anymore. This apathy often occurs after they've already received a degree from their current college, but are stuck wrapping up general ed transfer credits.

It is really difficult for me to care what my level 100 history class wants to teach me when I'm a couple months away from transferring to a 4 year college. I think I have transferitis.
