Post Production Clarity

listening to a song or project you've worked on a few hours or days after the initial session and realizing that it is in fact, kind of ass. This phenomena happens due to the long studio sessions and listening to the project over and over, which tricks your mind thinking that it sounds normal. These usually have the hugest impacts on Mixing and on Compositions. The best way to avoid this is to step away for 30 minutes every 2-4 hours to let your ears readjust.

Person A: "Yo you said last night you had a song you were working on? How's that going?"
Person B: "Yeah, mostly Scrapped that project, post production clarity hit and i realized it sounded like a snake wrestling a garbage disposal."

Ghost Productive

When you spend hours looking busy, with tabs open, notes everywhere, intense face on.. but you accomplish absolutely nothing significant.

I was being "ghost productive' all day, but I still gave absolutely zero clue as to what I'm doing.

Natural Product Synthesis

The specific challenge of creating, in the lab, compounds that are normally made by living organisms—medicines from plants, flavors from fruits, colors from insects, fragrances from flowers. Natural product synthesis is how we save endangered species (by not harvesting them), ensure consistent supply (by not depending on weather), and often improve on nature (by creating analogs that work better). It's also incredibly difficult—natural products are often complex molecules that evolution optimized over millions of years, and replicating them in glassware requires genius-level chemistry. When successful, natural product synthesis gives us steady supplies of life-saving drugs, consistent flavors for foods, and the satisfaction of having out-designed evolution, at least in one small molecule.

Example: "The cancer drug came from a rare Pacific yew tree—harvesting it was killing the trees. Natural product synthesis saved the day: chemists figured out how to make the molecule from common starting materials, and the yews could breathe easier. The synthesized drug was identical to the natural one, just without the deforestation. Nature had provided the blueprint; chemistry built the factory."

Microsoft Product

Any product that is poorly designed, easy to hack, bloated, annoying to use, laggy, full of unwanted features, or prone to frequent malfunction.

Not always necessarily a Microsoft product or even any kind of software.

“Sorry I’ll be a little late to the meeting, Teams is being a Microsoft product again.”

“That new game I got off Steam last month crashed five times while I was trying to play it. What a Microsoft product.”

“My new bike’s frame has already started to bend and break like the Microsoft product it is.”

Mal-productive

The act of getting work, a goal, or task done through nefarious or criminal means.

i.e. "John is mal-productive in that he gets the company paid but he doesn't care who gets screwed over or if he goes to jail. I like John, but blackmailing our boss for a raise is a little mean."
