Patching (from pumpkin patch) is a practical joke in which the victim is left a pumpkin on their stoop in the weeks leading up to Halloween.
If no jack o lantern is made with said pumpkin, the pranksters will return to egg the home.

During the coronavirus pandemic quarantines of 2019-2020, people were told, "wash your hands," "wear a mask, and "social distance" to avoid transmitting or getting the Rona.
"I'm so glad to see you, Aunt Sara! Gimme a big hug.
"No, baby, we can't do that. (Spreads her arms wide) Cabbage Patch hug, at a distance! When this damn COVID-19 thing is over, I'll hug you 10 times to make up for it."
"All right, Aunt Sara. Here's a Cabbage Patch hug for my favorite aunt.
