Something that is fully functional but acts the opposite.

Refusing to accept the reality.
A person acting the opposite in a normal circumstance.
Ex. A child runs into a wall and is laughing at the pain he/she is feeling,
Mother responds “I think my child is broken”.
Ex. He said “she isn’t laughing when I tickle her I think she’s broken”.
Ex. “My brother just got in a wreck and it made me laugh. I think I’m broken”.

Broken Boss

Implies the boss of a job once did exceptionally, but their ability to lead/direct a team of employees has deteriorated overtime and refuses to quit or accept that changes need to be made, or are afraid to do so.

They may still be effective at their own work, but they cannot realize that their business/team is underperforming and are no longer able to shift the situation in their favor.
