Doing a Warhurst

In Football, the practice of converting a solid centre back into a striker, thus transforming them into an unstoppable goal machine.

Named after the Sheffield Wednesday defender Paul Warhurst, who in 1993, was deployed as an emergency striker to replace the injured David Hirst and Mark Bright. The resulting move saw Warhurst score 12 goals in as many games and a call-up to the England National Squad as a striker.

Glory Hunter #1: "I see Fergie's got a bit of an injury crisis up front at the moment"

Glory Hunter #2: "Well, he could always stick Ferdinand up front and hope that he does a Warhurst"

Capello (in an Italian accent): "Terry, I told you to stay deep, what the hell are you doing up there?!"

dating spree

When a girl or guy is aggressively looking for their potential spouse, usually in their late 30s, and has several dates a day/week/month with different potential mates in order to determine the winning lifetime partner. Most of the dates are generated from mixers, school alumni events, parties, church, work, set-ups, referrals, chance meetings, and the Internet.

Gina: Hey Amy, are you busy Friday?
Amy: Yes, I have a date with Ryan.
Gina: How about Saturday?
Amy: Date with Johnny.
Gina: I can't wait until your dating spree is over so we can hang out again.
Amy: You & me both!

Chris: I can't keep track of my schedule with all of these dates!
Ben: With each one, you're that much closer to finding the one, then you'll be done with your dating spree!
