North East Wales phrase.

Used to represent someone whose ear gets red when embarrassed or stressed.

Usually associated with management

Frequently heard in Esclusham area of Wrexham.

Wife: "Pick up the kids at 4:30."
Husband: An hour late because he picked the kids up at 5:30. He had his man ears on.

Ex.2

"It's up in the cupboard!"

He looks and responds, "No, it's not in the fridge!"

He has his man ears on.

The condition one's auditory senses are in after spending more than 20 minutes in an Abercrombie&Fitch store. One may suffer from Abercrombie Ears for mere minutes, or for hours on end of muffled, incoherent sound due to the lessened sensitivity of the hearing.
