It’s not a British term, they’re just wrong. Yonk is the epitome of freedom of expression. It means what ever the user wants it to mean, although it is commonly used as a verb.
Boy: *gets slapped in the face by a branch while hiking*
Hiking buddy: Dog, you just got yonked.
Example 2
Girl: *realizes she has no less than 12 hours of homework due the next day*
Girl: Ughh! Yonk me. (Akin to, F*** me)
Example 3
Boy: *gets a bullseye while paying darts*
Boy: Ha! YONK!
Hiking buddy: Dog, you just got yonked.
