long island

It is an island that is part of New York. It is south of Connecticut but east of New Jersey. It has two distinct counties. These counties are Nassau and Suffolk. Queens and Brooklyn are seperate and are therefore part of the city.

Note : Long Island is full of segregated areas.

As a kid from Suffolk county, I actually feel different from someone in Nassau.

long island

long island is too big to define. brooklyn, queens, nassau, and suffolk are all part of long island (i don't care what you say- its a fact). also, there is a very big difference between each of these counties. towns like new hyde park, floral park, elmont, south floral park, and bellerose are both in nassau and queens in a more urban environment. many suffolk towns are surrounded by farms (riverhead) or million dollar beach houses (hamptons).

it takes about 3 hours to get from the hamptons to brooklyn, so to make a general description is really stupid. for instance, my house in long island is closer to stamford or fairfield, conn. then it is to the hamptons, riverhead, or jamesport in suffolk.

Whoa whoa, first of all, Long Island is not part of the city or most definitely, not part of upstate New York. Furthermore, there is a huge difference between Nassau and Suffolk, North shore and South shore. The Hamptons are basically a separate entity altogether. Billy Joel said it best: either you date a rich girl from the North Shore or a cool girl from the South shore. Except North Shore girls are actually cooler...but South shore beaches are the best (Robert Moses field 4!). We live for the summers...beer bqs and the beach. People who hate Long Island are just jealous. Who wouldn't want to live on the water, have a gorgeous house, and drive a sweet car. We can go to NYC whenever we want (even though we never do). We could probably single handedly support Abercrombie, Polo, and Lily Pullitzer. Long Island is far superior to everywhere else.

Long island is the breeding ground for gorgeous girls, hot guys, nice cars, and fabulous beaches.

Fleming Island High School

A completely unoriginal school filled with boring idiots roaming the halls and outside courtyard. Everyone in this school listens to rap and and smokes weed and drinks and pops pills just to escape the boringness but unfortunately it isn't successful. This is your average school with sluts dieing for attention from every conceivable human being in sight, 85% of the guys in this school try out or play football while the other 15% play some other sport and they are all concerned with nothing more then steroids and lil wayne's new rap album. They all wear abercrombie clothes, follow fads like communists and avoid originality like the plague. Your usual day consists of some local cum dumpsters going to the front office for a dress code violation while making as big a scene as possible to attract as much attention as they possibly can. It also consists of Higher-Middle class white kids who act like their life is incredibly hard and no one understands them. Probably about 1 fight a week between guys who's dads have left them since they were 5 years old and want to take their anger out on the world. This school consits of the following races: Blacks, white people who want to be black, asians who want to be black and mexicans who want to be black.
