The sense of almost boyish enthusiasm that comes over middle aged men when pursuing a hobby that requires expensive stuff and leaves non-hobbyists scratching their heads to figure out why it's so damned important. (Derived from Roy Campanella's observation about baseball: "You got to have a lot of little boy in you to play this game.")
When Jerry began talking about model railroading, it was easy to see the Campanella Effect in action.

this is a phenomenon known to all FIFA 18 players of the world. When playing online on any format (PS4, Xbox, PC), the team playing against Real Madrid seems to have nothing go in their favor. Specifically whenever Ronaldo is near the ball or when he has it. Being the highest rated player in the game, his effect seems to trigger some scripted FIFA 18 response in the opposing team's goalkeeper to have delayed reaction times. This scripting can also be seen when successful tackles render themselves to actually be unsuccessful as Ronaldo receives a deflection that goes perfectly into his path towards goal. Ronaldo also will win nearly every header that he is contesting due to this effect.
The effect itself has many negative health consequences especially for those who are experiencing it on the receiving end. Symptoms include excessive tilting, rage quitting, and sometimes, damage to the console, ones own body, or innocent by-standers around them. According to a recent study, prolonged exposure to the Ronaldo effect actually can lead to a series of mental illnesses. Among these illnesses are CR7 Fanboy disease, Excessive diving syndrome, and Madrid Online Autoselection disorder. Please see a doctor if you see experience the Ronaldo effect in extended periods of time.

Player 1: How did Ronaldo just win this header over two of my defenders who were already in position and then perfectly place this pass to another Madrid player?
Player 2: Clearly, you don't know too much about the Ronaldo Effect

The result of parking your car in one spot over an extended period of time, thus causing the local residents to ignore any illegal activities because they assume you must live in a house nearby.

1. When you use any living or non-living thing's success or progress to benefit yourself.
2. When you trick and or confuse someone into giving you money.
3. When your ego is through the roof and you won't let a single soul tell you otherwise.

Person 1: Hey man, you aren't going to believe what Ryan told me he needed money for!
Person 2: Wait, he borrowed money from me too. What did he say it was for?
Person 1: He said it was for the therapy he had to go when he made magnificent bagels.
Person 2: He told me the same thing! I was confused so I just gave it to him. I wonder what he's spending it on.
Person 2: I don't know but I know we've been hit by The Jaunzemis Effect!
