tailgate party

Parties that usually center around a group of people who tailgate to a football game (originated in the South). Once there a party, typically, with food (barbeque or grilled) and alcohol, is held in the parking lot.

Recently tailgating parties have begun to take place at other sports games, symphony performances, and nascar races all over the U.S.

Party Wraith

A person who frequently invites them self to parties where they are unwanted. They haunt parties like a wraith haunts an individual or place.

Also meaning a person who's life is centred around giving people the impression they are a popular party animal to the point where they are neither living nor dead because everything they do is fake and aimed at creating this image.

Often Party Wraiths have no genuine friends and maintain only the ghostly imitation of superficial friendships in the hope of hearing of upcoming parties and inviting them self.

Like a wraith envies the living a Party Wraith envies those with real friendships who get invited to parties without having to invite them self or cultivate a fake image and appear popular.

Bob: Hey Hank, I have a free house this weekend, wanna come and hang out with me and some of the guys?

Hank: Yeah sure thing...

Gordon: (interrupting) HEY GUYS, LONG TIME NO SEE I HEAR YOU'RE HAVING A PARTY?! IS THERE A PARTY? IS THERE? MAN IT'S GONNA BE A GOOD PARTY, I'LL BRING SOME BEER.

Hank: Man, Gordon is such a fucking party wraith.

Party Envy

When a person looks at photos on a social networking site, such as Myspace or Facebook, of various parties they weren't invited too or couldn't attend.
This makes the person jealous and/or upset they weren't at the party in question.

Looking at the photos of the party he couldn't attend, Greg couldn't help but be filled with Party Envy.
