A girl or a guy that you don't really know but take to a party to get them drunk in hopes to be able to hook up with them sexually or emotionally.

Jim- Who are you going to the party with tonight?
Bill- Well I plan on taking Jenn as my party date, but I don't know if she will be up for it or not. Sarah is my back-up party date if all else fails.

Date night is an organized, romantic, stress-relieving activity practiced in Sweden's progressive penal facilities. They're organized by prison officials as a tool to cut down on prison rape by encouraging inmates to have loving, meaningful homosexual relationships. The officials encourage it by providing date night for inmates. These dates are chaperoned by prison guards to ensure their sex acts are indeed consensual.

rescue date

a person, may be a girl or a guy, who has the sole purpose and function of accompanying the invitee to an event.

I don't want to drive: at night/on the freeway/over the bridge, etc., alone, so I will ask him/her to be my rescue date, so that I am able to attend this party, concert, reunion, etc.
