for the love of God, come on.
i mean, everyone makes fun of 'scene' kids or 'emo' kids for comforming to something that is supposed to be a symbol of non-comformity. You are all contradicting yourselves. Your saying that you want to hurt/kill/piss on?!? someone for the way they look? Has the human race honestly regressed that far back? take a look at movies like - mississippi burning, the pianist or to kill a mockingbird. Your acting the same way as the people in the movies. Your critisiing someone for their beliefs. I do not identify as 'emo' 'indie' or 'scene' but i do own vans slip ons, i do wear tight jeans, and i do listen to bands that the majourity of my classmates have not heard of. But just because my jeans are tighter than yours does not make me a lesser human being, or a 'fag' as you so delictaly put it. someone listens to obscure bands? Why the fuck do you care? get a FUCKING hobby. please. people who listen to unpopular music do so, for the most part, because music is a huge part of life for them, and seeing it slowly stripped down and sold for ratings waters down the concepts that the music originaly held. That is why they prefer to listen to bands that you dont know about, so that they DONT become like my chemicle romance, fall out boy, ect. If you still thnk that they are conforming, than think of this. People who go to AE or AF ae spending ALOT of money on the clothes they buy. Kids who go to vintage stores are buying cheap and for the most part really nice clothing. everyone, whether you want to admit it or not, has before, will in the future, or is copying someone. It doesnt make you a bad person though, it makes you a human, cause the sad fact is, that there is no originaly left, everything has been done. So if kids want to hold on to what they see as the last shred of originaly left in modern society, let them. and fuck off.

uneducated person's rant -
emo boyz and scene kids are such FAGS. with their girls jeans and eye liner. They are all trend followers! i want to kill them all because they listen to obscure music and wear clothes that fit well. i will also make durogatory comments about the size of their genitals, specualte about their sexual preferences and continuely judge them as a whole instead of everyone at a time. HARDXCORE

Get the Scene Kids mug.Scene kids are usually and almost always teenagers who have very specific interests. Scene kids like the latest things in fashion, music, and pop culture. For example, Hello Kitty is a huge favorite for scene girls. scene boys usually like Pokemon, Dinosuars, Gloomy Bear, and other childish things. But all scene kids, no matter what gender, enjoy these things. As for music, scene kids like most Electronic or Techno, Rock, Hardcore Rock, sometimes Indie, and occasionally Hip-Hop. But you won't see scene kids listening to Hip-Hop artists like Eminem or Missy Elliot. Jeffree Star and Scene Kidz are more of their hip-hop. The bands that scene kids listen to are usually underground and not very popular. Some bands they like are::: Dance Gavin Dance, Jeffree Star, Electric Valentine, Glamour For Better, Scene Kidz, Hawthorne Heights.
The scene fashion should NOT be confused with Emo!!!
Girls::: Tight, colorful jeans, neon or brightly colored clothes featuring bands or Hello Kitty, large jewelry, jelly bracelets, funky colored Vans or Converse, high heels are sometimes okay, headbands, Terry Cloth wristbands, leggings, and large earings. Everything should be big and bright! As for make-up, use lots of color. Eyeliner is a must, sometimes girls like to form "cat eyes" with the eyeliner. Eye shadow is also helpful. Lip gloss is exceptional.
Boys::: Skinny/slim fit jeans are a must, neon colored shirts are perfect, shirts with Dinosaurs and Pokemon are good, band tees, belts should be bright too, Terry Cloth Wristbands, jelly bracelets, Vans are popular amongst the guys, LARGE SUNGLASSES!!!
You can find these items at Hot Topic, Urban Outfitters, and Journeys.
Hair can vary. A popular style for girls is long hair on the side, short in the back, and puffy on top. Color is almost a necesity. Pink, blue, yellow, purple, or multi-colored are good colors for streaks.
Boys haircuts tend to clone that of Emo. But not always! Fo-hawks have become popular as well. A Fo-hawk is a haircut featuring short in the back and front, and the top is mooshed together like a mohawk but shorter. Boys hair can also be colored or bleached blonde or jet black. It doesn't always have to be in your face.
Scene kids tend to be more positively oriented than Emo kids who are more emotional. Scene kids are usually obnoxious, hyper, sarcastic, but friendly. However, scene girls tend to be sorta bitchy towards other scene girls. :D
Scene kids actually have goals in life. Many scene kids want to persue in careers such as Hair Dresser, Fashion Designer, Graphic Designer, Magazine Writer, Model, Photographer, or anything creative.
Scene kids love the internet, like Myspace and Facebook. They also enjoy taking pictures of themselves. Pictures are usually taken from greater heights or at abstract angles to give strong effects.
Overall, Scene kids should not be mixed with Emo kids since they are very different.
YAY SCENE KIDSSS!!!!

Get the Scene chick mug.hmmm.. alright.... how scene turned into scene..
well
in the 1980s the punk kids got together, and thought about all this music they were writing and said basically that they were tired of regan rock and wanted to write about their girlfriends, or the troubles at home or something slightly more appealing to not only a larger crowd, would incorporate some of their life rather than presidents or celebrities into their music. This slowly turned into a more musically oriented crowd, and musical style called emo (which was brought up as a slur by the way, the producers didnt think it would hit big, so they called them emo, due to their emotive lyrics). This musical style was entertaining and had more musical talent in the songs, rather than punk which was mostly power chords and major chord progressions, which was transposed to every instrument they played in the band. As the emo popularity grew, it stemmed into a softer, even more musically motivated crowd called indie, they generally wore thick rimmed glasses, skinny jeans (not tight) old school vans, and a short bowl cut, they were looked down upon as "posers" because they couldnt back the lyrics which they wrote. Indie and emos then merged in the ninties to create yet another culture.. this music was highly computer based, used synthesizers, and sirens, and followed very closely drug and sex based lyrics (for example: pulled up at the stoplight, the drugs on the dashboard, look at the mess we made tonight. kick off your stilettos, kick off your stilettos, and fuck me in the back seat, fuck me in the back seat ~the medic droid) and thus the birth of scene. it didnt really kick off until the oughts came around, however the style is fairly general, even though every person who is in this culture likes to be unique (what teenager doesnt?). they borrowed alot of styles from the eighties, such as big thick glasses, tight pants (if your a boy) tighter pants (if your a girl) and piercings and tattoos are certainly not looked down upon. usually band tee shirts, that are usually pretty tight, and skater shoes (vans adios es dc oaisis etc.). anything neon as well, or will show up in a blacklight. indeed like all teenagers (which is where most of this whole stuff started) scenes can be arrogant, know it all, flashy, hypocritical, and a large majority of people who call themselves scene are in fact posers ( for the sake of example: say they do drugs, say they have sex every weekend, but seriously, how many teenagers do you think are rolling X and having sex every single weekend?) but this is part of going through puberty, and seriously alot of scene people are really arrogant, and posers, but then there are a majority who just sort of keep to themselves, however people tend to notice the ones who behave badly because its noticeable. I see where those people are coming from.. the ones that write rather ugly definitions for scenes and emos and punks etc., however you notice jocks and preps and cheerleaders do bad shit, and you notice scenes who do bad shit, cause no matter who you are, where you belong, what friends your going to hang out with, if your going to do bad shit, you will, and if you wont you wont. thats it.

Get the Scene Girls <3 mug.Scene Kids are the new wave hardcore kids. Often mistaken for emo because of people's ignorance. They are actually a happy new trend. They are the other half of the hardore civil war (meatheads vs scene kids) they also listen to screamo, techno, punk rock, indie rock and hip hop. All scene kids style and straighten their hair. Most wear eyeliner (not to be confused with emo eyepaint), girl pants and tight band/splash paint style shirts. It is rare to see a scene kid without converse shoes but, vans or retro shoes are also in their list of clothing accessories. THEY DO NOT CUT THEIR WRISTS... like I said before they are not emo and tend to dislike EMOtionaly unhappy people. In more urban areas scene kids carry hand guns and are more gang like. Most scene kids go to shows regularly and are seen in pits hardcore dancing.
From First to Last is a band scene kids might listen to while Dashboard Confessional is a band emo kids listen to.
