If you’re hungover or feeling rough from self-inflicted pain, the phrase suggests you’ve definitely “seen better days” or felt better - a nod to Australian singer Pete Murray’s track Better Days.
Aussie 1: How are you feeling after last night? Looked like you had a big one!
Aussie 2: Yeah, nah look, I'm definitely feelin' a little Pete Murray today

The act of lathering your fist in Texas pete hot sauce then proceeding to fist your ol lady after she acted up.
The bitch came at me again last night with her bullshit so I gave her the old Texas Sneaky Pete after foreplay.

A male who is willing to wait in the lurch for his roommate to take a momentary sex break; only then to seize the moment and seamlessly slide in sex with the unknowing woman.

Besides an unlikable guy with lots of money and a talent for playing guitar (and not beating someone with one as a weapon, since that allegedly got him knocked out) who would Pete Townshend be without the Who? Is it somehow unfair to Pete Townshend to think or say any of that? It's possible to respect somebody's ability/talent (not underestimate their capability) while having no respect for who and what they are as a human being.
Roger Daltry makes it sound like he wouldn't be anybody in particular without the Who, but really the Who was still a likeable band with him as the face of the band (before the 80s). It hasn't been the same since Pete Townshend started convincing everyone else in the band that he was the best thing to ever happen to the Who, and that nobody else was good enough to question him. At least Roger Daltry seems like a guy who had some heart.
