This of course is a very bad sign as all the person himself is doing is giving what the troll wants. The best advice to keep in mind would be not feeding the troll at all, simply ignore it, and walk away.
When you're feeding the trolls, you're basically falling under their trap. They want you to get offended and worked up about something. Think of it as feeding your evil wolf, the more you feel angry, offended and hateful, the more power you're feeding that evil wolf inside of you (this is of course a reference to the famous Native American tale Two Wolves).
At least show some respect for youraelf and don't give any trolls the offended reaction they so desperately want in the first place.
