This person will find several ways to solve the same problem, only all of them will be incorrect.

The customer called in with a problem, and instead of quickly finding a solution, the technician decided to get dean.

Deanimalize

To pretend that non-human-animals have less abilities than they actually do, as a way to "other" or belittle them.

To act like animals can't feel pain, can't grieve, can't think etc. even when they can.

The opposite of "antrhopomorphise."

The non-human-animal version of "dehumanize."

Saying that fish can't feel is to deanimalize them. Science has shown that they feel pain and do have intelligence and create communities.
