Try-hard

A person that plays a game. Not for the fun, but for pure grind. They don't enjoy it, they do it because they have nothing better to do. They are the main reason that some games are dying. Nobody likes a try-hard.

"Are you just saying that because you died, or is he actually good?"

It can be in-game (LoL) or in real life.
There are many degrees of Try-Hardness.

A person who trys their nuts off. Especially when you think they are only winning only because they are putting too much effort into something.

Often declared by hypocrites during long winded tantrums while playing video games such as CoD. They call out other people when they are in fact trying too hard and still losing.

Person 1: "Do you know Justin Earl?"
Person 2: "Yeah, I played MW2 with him last week. He's such a try-hard!"

Try-Hard

A person who puts too much effort into a video game, and cares too much about winning. Usually such a person uses cheap tricks or unfair techniques in order to win. All of their insults involve calling people children and insulting them based on their stats. These people have massive egos and can't accept that their stats have no value in the real world. Their entire social life revolves around the one or two games they spend all day playing, and constantly compare their stats to other people. These players are total Stat-Whores.

Player #1: Look at that Try-Hard. He's been shooting premium ammunition all game.
Player #2: He has 3k games, and all of them are in his IS-6. That must be a re-roll.
Player#: Wow, what a Stat-Whore.

Try-Hard

A person (usually a noob) who really gives everything they possibly can to everything they do; they are hard-workers. But they work for all the wrong reasons, they just really want to be the best at everything but they usually end up looking fake and forced. They really want to look excellent, but they aren't. They end up working harder than they have to and don't get accepted because of it. They are very similar to wanna-be's but worse because they make their actions obvious to everyone they can.

Mike- Wow guys, look at Justin trying to dunk! What a try-hard!
Bryant- *laughs* OH WOW, He is sucha try-hard! Justin!
Justin- Yeah?
Mike- STOP TRYING TO DUNK!
Justin- I just can't believe I can't touch rim yet.
Mike- Believe it because you can't -.-
