Roflcopters

Roflcopters comes from the reference to the acronym ROFL (Roll On The Floor Laughing) and Helicopters.

When used in text-to-voice on Ventrilo server, someone spamming over and over the acronym ROFL would be heard as the sound done by an helicopter.

Lately it's been used mostly in World of Warcraft where the ventrilo system is popular.

From the term rofl (Rolling On the Floor Laughing), roflcopter describes rolling on the floor laughing so hard your legs begin moving, causing your horizontal body to turn in a clockwise (or counterclockwise) motion, much like the rotating blades on a helicopter.
