Therefore, "Nutella generation" is used to make fun of and refer to children and teenagers who have grown up in technology, to the modern / gourmet generation; to the so-called "fresh". On the other hand, the "roots generation" is the example to be exalted, it is the right way to be or do something. It's the old or traditional way of doing something.
