MOXIE

Mars Oxygen In-situ Resource Utilization Experiment is an oxygenator in the form of an “electronic tree” that will sustain all life on mars. This instrument will convert small amounts of carbon dioxide from the Martian atmosphere into oxygen for fuel and breathing.

The use of MOXIE keeps us from developing acute hypercapnia on planet mars.
