Yard sale

The term yard sale is term that originated from snow sports such as skiing and snowboarding. The term is used to describe a massive wipeout in which the skier or snowboarder loses some articles of their clothing or even their poles, skis, or board. It is called a yard sale because after the wipeout, all the person’s clothing are laid out in the snow like they are on display in a yard sale.
Oh my god! Did you just see that kid yard sale off that ramp? That was hilarious.

yard sale

A weekend cash-raising event where either you are selling strips of sod from your front lawn, or all the items for sale are three feet long.
I was gonna widen the asphalt parking-area in front of my house, so I carefully cut the grassy sod into easy-to-manage three-foot-long strips, neatly rolled it up and bagged it, and then held a yard sale.
